Vehicle wraps can be a truly valuable signage option for almost any business. You can use your wrap to turn your truck, van or car into a mobile billboard. But there are a few things you need to know about vehicle wraps. Here are some of the things you should make sure you avoid with vehicle wraps and graphics:
Vehicle wraps need to able to be read easily, so proper placement is incredibly important. You want to make sure you choose the best place on your vehicle to display your most relevant information. For example, you might not want your name and number on the tiny back window of a sedan. These windows are often sharply angled and small, meaning they’re only readable from above. Instead, you should put your important information somewhere where it can be read easier. Instead of choosing angled areas for your information, choose flat surfaces.
Don’t Wrap the Roof
Another thing you’ll want to avoid with vehicle graphics is wrapping the roof of your car. Unless you have a good reason, you should avoid wrapping your roof. The roof has the most direct sunlight, so the wrap will fade faster on the roof. And more than likely not many people are going to see your vehicle’s roof anyway.
Too Much Text
You should also avoid cramming too much text on to your wrap. You want to make sure that your most important information is prominently displayed. But you also want to make sure that you’re not crowding your wrap with too much copy. If you find yourself shrinking the size of your name and phone number to fit more information on your wrap, you’re doing it wrong.
Similarly, although a few images will really make your vehicle wrap stand out, don’t overcrowd the wrap with images. Images need to compliment your copy instead of distracting from it. You don’t want people to be distracted by your images. Balance is the key here. You want to balance your images, copy and empty space to make your sign easy to read.
